Bashundhara Shuvosangho has organised a tree-plantation campaign in Bir Muktijoddha Hafizur Rahman Memorial Road at Tetulia village under Adamdighi upazila of Bogura on Sunday.
During the campaign, over one hundred saplings of jackfruit and mahogany were planted on both sides of the road.
Tree plantation campaign in BoguraUpazila Nirbahi Officer Nishat Anjum Ananya inaugurated the campaign and appreciated the initiative taken by Bashundhara Shuvosangho to combat climate change, enhance biodiversity, and improve the overall environment.
The nirbahi officer also expressed gratitude to Shuvosangho for doing several social welfare works in the upazila.
Santahar Technical College Principal Saiful Islam has also praised the initiative, as it inspires other volunteers of the society. He said, “If everyone plants at least one tree wherever they can, our country will thrive in greenery.”
Aminul Islam Sumon, president of the local unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, noted that the unit conducts tree-plantation campaigns every year during monsoon season.
The Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abdur Rauf, , Advisor to the Adamdighi unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Engineer Nazrul Islam, Vice-President Ahsan Habib Tuhin, General Secretary Hasibul Islam Shakil, Organizational Secretary Shakila Akter, and Tariqul Islam Zentu were present, among others.
