A sewing training programme has been inaugurated in Chuadanga under the initiative of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
The event took place on Friday (8 August) at 3:00pm at Adarsha High School in Chuadanga municipality. The training has been launched with funding from the country’s leading industrial conglomerate, Bashundhara Group, and organised by the Chuadanga district branch of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
A total of 20 underprivileged women and female students are participating in the programme.
The training initiative was officially inaugurated by Hemanta Kumar Singh Roy, General Secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho's Chuadanga district branch. Jisan Ahmed, Adviser of the district unit of Shuvosangho and district correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantho, delivered the welcome speech.
Speakers at the event said that Bashundhara Shuvosangho stands with all forms of noble endeavours. As part of that spirit, it has arranged this hands-on sewing training programme free of charge for marginalised women and female students. Upon completion of the three-month training, each participant will receive a sewing machine. Such commendable initiatives are ongoing in various parts of the country. Many trainees from the Shuvosangho Sewing Training Centre have already become self-reliant, which is contributing positively to the national economy. Bashundhara Shuvosangho deserves gratitude for arranging this programme to empower women.
Sewing instructor Liza Hussain also spoke on the occasion. The inaugural event was conducted by Sheikh Liton, Office Secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
