Bangladesh has added two more factories to its growing list of LEED-certified industrial facilities, bringing the total to 263.
Of the total certified factories, 111 have achieved Platinum, 133 Gold, and 15 Silver certification under the globally recognized green building rating system, said Mohiuddin Rubel, former Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
In addition, Bangladesh now boasts 68 out of the top 100 highest rated LEED Certified factories in the world.
This milestone reinforces Bangladesh’s position as a global leader in sustainable garment manufacturing, with the country home to the highest number of LEED-certified green factories in the world.
