Renowned singer and television programme host Hassan Abidur Reja Jewel passed away.

He breathed his last around 11:53am on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital, family sources said.

Jewel’s wife, Sangeeta Ahmed, previously informed the media that he had been placed in palliative care since October.

Recently, his condition deteriorated, leading to his admission to a private hospital in Dhaka where he was placed on life support.
