Five more dengue deaths were reported in the past 24 hours till Wednesday morning, bringing the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 187 this year.
In the past 24 hours, 668 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, bringing the total caseload in 2025 to 43,841.
The deaths included three women and two men.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), three deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and two in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Of the latest cases, 158 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 106 in Chattogram, 126 in Dhaka, 94 under DNCC, 73 under DSCC, 41 in Khulna, 30 in Mymensingh, 35 in Rajshahi, and five in Rangpur division.
