Rajshahi University (RU) authorities expect to announce the results of the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU), hall union and student representative to the Senate elections within 12 to 15 hours after voting ends, Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib said on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference at the university’s Senate Building, the VC said the administration aims to ensure a fair and transparent election. 
“The entire vote-counting process will be conducted under open camera surveillance, allowing people from anywhere in the country to watch it live through the media,” he said. Responding to a question about possible delays, Prof Naquib said a highly skilled technical team has been assigned to handle the process. “We hope to announce the full results within 12-15 hours unless there are technical issues or unexpected problems,” he added. The results will also be manually verified alongside machine counts to ensure accuracy.
On security arrangements, the VC said around 2,000 police personnel – both in uniform and plainclothes – will be deployed across the campus, while other law enforcement agencies will provide full cooperation to maintain order.
Pro VC Prof Mohammad Main Uddin said the RUCSU office building is being prepared for the newly elected members, and offices of cultural organisations are being relocated to other facilities. A total of 903 candidates are contesting the elections – 248 for RUCSU positions, 597 for hall councils and 58 for Senate seats.
