A 24-year-old man sustained bullet injuries by stray bullet fired by police while driving away a wild buffalo at Deptara in Araihazar upazila of Naraynganj district on Friday.
The injured was identified as Shanto, son of Babul Mia of the area.
He is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said, Imdadul Islam Taiab, officer-in-charge of Araihazar Police Station.
Quoting witnesses, police said a wild buffalo turned furious suddenly and attacked some people.
Later, a team of police led by sub-inspector Shahidul Islam was informed by local people.
SI Shahidul then fired bullets targeting the buffalo but it hit Shanto, leaving him injured.
Shanto was taken to a local hospital first and from there he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
