Govt approves export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa to India

The government has approved the export of 3,000 tonnes of hilsa fish to India on the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja, said a Commerce Ministry statement on Friday.
The statement instructed the exporting firms to contact the relevant wing of the ministry to obtain export permissions by 12:00 pm on 24 September.
Previously, the government had decided against exporting hilsa to India this year to ensure an adequate supply of the fish in the local market.
