BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has returned to the country after more than four months abroad.
The special aircraft (air ambulance) carrying her—arranged by the Emir of Qatar—landed at 10:44am on Tuesday, at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
Atiqur Rahman Rummon, convener of Amra BNP Poribar (We Are BNP Family), told that the air ambulance carrying the BNP Chairperson has landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
After leaving the airport, the BNP leader is expected to head towards her Gulshan residence, Firoza. Meanwhile, since early morning, crowds of BNP leaders and activists began to gather at the airport to welcome the former Prime Minister. Many had assembled along the nearby roads well before the scheduled time.
Additionally, security around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was significantly heightened in anticipation of Khaleda Zia’s return. Alongside other law enforcement agencies, army personnel were also deployed in the area.
