BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has urged all to stay united to prevent the “fascist Awami League” from returning to power.
“We will close all doors to the fascist Awami League’s comeback by remaining united. Everyone must stay together,” he said while addressing a programme at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
Recalling his personal struggles, Salahuddin said, “I had to live in exile for nearly nine and a half years for writing just a few columns. I had to stay in confinement and face imprisonment and torture. But I never stepped back from the path of struggle.”
He further added, “Today, we heard the glorious history of the students’ uprising and remembered the bloodstained days. Based on that past, we must build the Bangladesh of the future — a truly democratic society, state, and government for our children.”
